Kevin Murphy, Psychotherapist, Dublin

Kevin Murphy MAPPI, ICP has an honours degree (BA) in Psychology and an honours Master of Science degree (MSc) in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, both from UCD. He trained at UCD's School of Psychotherapy, in the Department of Medicine and Medical Science, St. Vincent's University Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin 4.

He is a Registered Practitioner Member of the Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI) and is a former member of its Executive and Scientific Committees. He is a member of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). 

Expertise at work

He is also a graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and an associate member of the Irish Psycho-Analytical Association (IPAA). The APPI, IPAA and PSI are members of the Psychological Therapies Forum that is supporting the Irish Government's introduction of State registration for therapists.

He has practised for many years in the area of forensic psychotherapy and was a trained facilitator with Parentline, the national helpline for parents. He formerly lectured in Forensic Psychotherapy at Independent Colleges, Dublin. His current doctoral research is in the area of asexuality.
